When data logging it does not ask for how many pages
so I was wondering how long will it data log while hooked to lap top.
I went for a drive last night and it shut off twice after about 8 minutes and said run time error
or somthing like that.

The software doesn't use pages like it used to. It will record until you tell it to stop or you run out of hard disk space. I'm not sure why you're getting an error when you stop. What version of WinTEC do you have?
