the gpio's are lost...

we got the car running and the laptop/ecu exchanges info just fine. i noticed though that the gpio's i assigned do not show up when viewing them on the laptop. i assigned 3,4,5, & 6 to something. when looking at the gpo drop down menu, only 1,2, 7, 8, & 9 show up.

where did they go???????? (are they out to lunch? - joke - lol)

SOunds like you turned on IAC control like I suggested on the phone, but left it on 4-wire control (those are the pins that are used for the stepper IACs). Switch it to 2-wire and they'll come off break.

jon,

thank you for replying. i couldnt remembered if that was one of the questions jeff and i wrote down to ask. he was excited to share teh information you and him discussed over the phone. in our conversation this question did not arise so i thought i would ask it here.

it makes total sense about the iac control setup. i didnt think to check that on the file he installed. im going to make a plate and block off the iac.

we both appreciate your replys and your help very much.

thank you
dean
