I have some troubles with my IAC control. Not accurate. So I removed it and switched the TEC 'ON'. The plunger fully retracs and then goes out. This seems to be normal, but when doing this, the plunger is rotating sometimes.
IAC motor was delivered with my TEC. I have seen other IAC motor that do not rotate when going in and out. So is it normal with this one ?
Thanks

It's probably not actually rotating. It might look like it is because the spring is what keeps it from spinning. As a result it CAN turn back and forth a little which can make it look like it's spinning. If the IAC is moving in and out smoohtly otherwise, it's working like it should.

Do a little looking on here (is may not be in the TEC3 section) for a thread on Idle control. I THINK there is one. Otherwise, contact your dealer or us for some help on getting the IAC going. I don't really have time to be able to write it up right now.

Thanks.
For those who could help me, actual TPS is 0.49V and closed TPS in the TEC is 0.55V so it should work.
Sometimes idle is 900 RPM and sometimes 1200 RPM (engine warm).
If I play with the opening of the throttle, RPM follows what I am doing with no real action of the IAC whereas the screen displays an IAC activity up and down.
This system worked perfectly for 5mn when I first started the new TEC a few years ago and since I have troubles dispite checked at Electromotive.
I saw too many small functionning problems with my TEC3, I can definitely not rely on it :( .

Alex,

I had to do some checking on my IAC action when I could not get it to go full closed. My idle speed would not come down to where I want it (a 4 cyl engine doen't need much idle air. I had to reduce the number of steps for reset entry found under the Idle setup screen. The idle motor I am using doesn't seem to find the zero steps in initialization (key on) if it is more than 160 and consequently the software may try to drive the pintle to zero steps but the pintle will still be off the valve seat.

I could tell that the valve never got fully closed because I removed the valve body and tried blowing air through it while the initializing was happening (key on).
