I would like to start a technical discussion about grounding. I moved my battery to the trunk, ran a ground and +12v 1/0 wire to the front firewall into a thru firewall connector. I then added each one ground cable to the block near the starter and the other went to a power distribution block. My TEC3R 12V is connected to the power distribution block and the ground is connected to the thru firewall connector. My question is: is this correct? Am I going to have trouble with the TEC unit with my grounding scheme??

I also have a #6 ground cable from the battery to the car chassis and another from the engine block to the chassis.

Mike

my question to you is do you have the 12v distribution block powering the tec and feeding the alternator/starter? cause that would be a problem, as for the ground, i also have a trunk mounted battery, i have the ground going under the trunk onto the chasis, and then one running all the way forward to the block, for 12v, i have 1 0 guage cable going from the battery to the starter which crosses over to the alternator, and then 1 wire to a distribution block that feeds the underhood fuse box and the tec

Well I did the following:

Removed the aux ground from the battery to the chassis. (eliminate ground loop potential)

Moved the TEC3r ground from the firewall lug to the engine block

Added a ground from the ground point on the block to the chassis (1/0 cable)

I will let you know how it turned out.

I realized I don't have a pic of this specifically but:

I made my own circle ground system out of 3/4" aluminum. The center bolt is bolted to the fender (thru a stock nut welded to the fender in the upper wheel well by the factory) and on the back there is a ring terminal running to the back of the truck where I have a stainless steel bolt where the battery itself is grounded. The wires on the circle go to the intake, the block, the alternator, and to another grounding block under the dash where the TECII is grounded.

I went WAY overboard with the grounding this time around!

Good discussion on proper grounding here.
