Can you have too little size hose for the reference pressure going to the bov?? I redid my hose-lines a while back and just noticed the other day that my bov chatters. Instead of a straight pffffssh... it sounds like cha-cha-cha-cha-cha. I've checked for leaks and I have none- up to 17psi. I'm running around 20ish.. But it chatters at any boost pressure... If I'm in higher boost and then let off the gas, it makes a very short pfffshh and then immediately to the chatter. Before I had larger tubing going to the bov and it just pffffsshhh with a tiny bit of light chatter at the end... My vac line comes off the manifold 1/4in tube and then spits into a T with one side going to Fuel Pressure regulator and the other going to the bov.. Both of those lines are 1/8 or maybe a tiny bit smaller.. ~3/32" tubing... whatever fits tightly on a 1/8in male fitting. Its a soft line also so I thought maybe along with the heat it could be collapsing-

It didn't start doing this till I got on it hard the other day and after I heard it. I think I just answered my own question but feedback would be great!

I have only just got into the BOV thing but I would imagine too small a hose will affect BOV reaction time. As far as the chatter goes I would think it might have something to do with the valve itself getting a bit dirty and not sliding freely within the bore. Once again this is purely a guess.

Usually the flutter you hear is from the spring tension, I think being to soft, if I recall correctly.

What kind of bov is it? And is it a plastic T or a metal one, ive had problems with the plastic T's melting shut.

Melting shut??? dang.. My T's are on the intake side so not much heat. My experience is that: if the spring is cranked up then this puts more pressure on the diaphram and requires more pressure from the charge pipe to open, thus flutter.. If its set low it will open more easily and stay open making the ppffffssshh sound. Its an HKS SSQ... I want to swap it out with a tial 50mm and be done with it but can't do it yet. Anyway thats why I was thinking it had to do with the lines collapsing or something wierd. Hopefully I can get it off the car by this weekend and troubleshoot the current setup-

Yes, melting it. I have this wierd problem, where if something can go wrong, it deffinetly will.

I have the same bov, there is the bolt/locknut on the back of it, loosen it up some, and see what happens.
