I have learned many interesting things on this forum but why don't we have 2 or 3 bin files from professionaly calibrated engines on dyno?.
WOT ignition and AFR are quite easy to calibrate but idle control, cold starting, acceleration enrichment are far more difficult. Our engines can run fairly well even with a not so good calibration but Mpg, drivability etc.. could be even better.
Now the only well calibrated file I am working with as a support comes from a 1000hp V6 Chevy equiped with a Big Stuff 3.
Please post some good Bins.

I was being sarcastic. I can't see the logic behind feeling the need to hoard one's files... Helping others that have trouble grasping the tuning methods that come easily to some, should be celebrated here... Understanding up front of course, that info to be used, is at own risk. Just my opinion...

Just my opinion... I can see the need if it's one's livelihood to calibrate systems for others. A person sharing their bin isn't much use anyway. With all the variables involved, viewing someone elses bin would only be for curiosities sake. A person with any sense wouldn't just plug someone else's bin in and run it. By the way. Anyone can view a Motec graphing representation of my fuel map on YouTube. DonW21G. It'll only work on my engine though.

Sure that fuel map can vary heavily between engines depending on fuel pressure, injector size, fuel etc.. Then spark advance shows less differences.
When I purchased the TEC3, I would like to have some sample bin files that work well on diffrent kind of engines in order to have the general shape of the different parameters like warm up, idle control, fuel enrichment etc.... If you buy a XFI, you have many working tuning files ready to go and need just some fine tuning. With the TEC you can go the wrong way very easily and spend a lot of time debugging if you are a novice tuner like me.

If you're looking to really dial in your system, yes, you are going to spend a lot of time on your first attempt. The best thing I can suggest is to pay good attention to the advice given in the instructions that came with your system and get a good book on the subject of tuning aftermarket engine control systems.
After going through the same thing, in retrospect, the advice given in those kinds of books were very good.

I followed the same process, and for sure i learned more solving the problems than just plugging in a Bin file. Now i am very happy with my 4000 lbs - 137 mph 1/4 mile daily driver
